The place we went stocks the pond with Rainbow Trout. You can rent fishing poles and buy worms and you pay per inch of fish you catch. It was a great recommendation from a friend. We went for 3 hours, caught 2 fish, and got pretty slimy from worms. All in all, we had a great morning and Kevin was officially surprised!
Little Brother got tired of fishing so he declared he was the worm guy. Whenever anyone needed a worm, he'd bring it on over!
I love the progression of photos below of Big Brother. He caught on quickly and was pinching the worms in half, putting them on his hook, and casting his line all by himself within a short time. He reeled in one of the fish we caught and was so proud!
I haven't been fishing since I was a kid. I told Kevin that I didn't think about all the particulars when we were planning this day. When I fished as a little girl, my dad would deal with the worms and fish. I realized quickly that was Kevin and my job now! I am proud to report that I was pinching worms in half, baiting hooks and even took a hook out of the fish mouth! I felt like a true outdoors- woman!!!
The best part was that they gutted and chopped of the head for you - for a small tip. I love the boys expressions above while they watched him clean out the fish. The tip was well worth it or those fish would have end up in the garbage. Looking forward to grilling them up this week for dinner!
(PS- not sure why these turned out so grainy and blurry on the website- they look much better in my editing program. Not sure why that happens on the web sometimes!)
